Our full day vacation camps provide off campus adventures, specialty choice time activities, and outdoor play explorations that build community and multi grade/ school friendships. Whether a day camp or a week long adventure, camps offer children a variety of exciting, engaging and inspiring options. Explore our offerings below!

Professional Development Day Vacation Camp
Breakwater Enrichment Center offers childcare to meet your needs during Breakwater School and select Portland Public School professional development days. Join the Breakwater Enrichment Center team for a fun-filled day of playing, learning, and exploring both on and off of Breakwater’s campus!

  • K-4th Grade Camp - Chocolate Factory Tour (Breakwater School Students)

    • K-4th Grade Camp - Chocolate Factory Tour (For Breakwater School Students); $100

      Kindergarten - 4th Grade Vacation Day Cap will enjoy a trip to Freeport to tour the Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Factory* in the morning (factory tour + sample chocolates) and on campus activities and free play in the afternoon. 4th graders can choose which camp day to participate in!

      *Please note that Wilbur’s of Maine is not a nut-free facility, and while our sample packs will be nut-free, the facility does have nuts present on site.

      Drop off will be at 8:30 am and pick up will be at 3:30 pm with extended day care available from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.

  • 4th - 8th Grade Camp - Skiing @ King Pine (Breakwater School Students)

    • 4th - 8th Grade Camp - Skiing @ King Pine (For Breakwater School Students); $150

      4th-8th Grade Vacation Day Camp is taking a classic winter adventure trip to King Pine in Madison, New Hampshire! We will enjoy a day of downhill skiing or snowboarding with friends! We would love to have your 4th - 8th grader join us for a day filled with adventure, fun, and cool challenges. 4th graders can choose which camp day to participate in! *No ski or snowboard lessons will be offered; Participants must be comfortable riding a ski lift and skiing down a green trail.

      Drop off will be at 8:00 am and pick up will be at 4:00 pm with extended day care available from 4:00 - 5:30 pm.

February Vacation Camp

  • K-6 Grade Winter Wonderland February Vacation Camp 2026

Available for all students in grades K-6; Cost: $100/day (individual day registration only)
Drop Off: 8:30 - 9:00 AM/Pick Up: 3:00 - 3:30 PM/ Optional Extended Day: 3:30-4:30 PM ($10/day)

During this Winter Wonderland Adventure Camp, we will be venturing out to explore Maine's beautiful wintry landscape! We will spend part of our day off-campus engaged in a medley of winter activities such as sledding*, winter trail walking, and fort-building (a field trip schedule will be sent prior to the start of camp). We will pair our days with various activities on Breakwater's campus, with choice time activities such as science experiments, winter crafts, and more snowy games on our playground. Each day will conclude with a closing circle to share appreciations while sipping hot chocolate or another fun treat!  *Weather and snow permitting

  • 5th-8th Grade Cross Country Skiing Adventure

Available for all students in grades 5th - 8th Grades; Cost: $130 
Drop Off: 8:30 - 8:45 AM/Pick Up: 4:30

We're going Cross Country Skiing at Carter’s XC Ski Center (weather dependent) This classic wintersport is fun, challenging, and even a little thrilling. This is a perfect excursion for students who have strong gross motor skills. Our day will start early, so students should arrive at Breakwater ready to go! Once we get to the XC Center, everyone will get outfitted in rentals (boots, skis, and poles). In between skiing the wintery, woodsy trails of Maine we will have lunch. A hot cocoa treat will definitely be an essential part of the day too!

Available for all students in grades 4th - 8th Grades; Cost: $100 
Drop Off: 8:30 - 9:00 AM/Pick Up: 3:00 - 3:30 PM/ Optional Extended Day: 3:30-4:30 PM ($10/day)

Have you always wondered if you could really survive outside during the harsh Maine winters? During this vacation camp day we will be shelter building, fire building, campfire cooking, and bushcrafting at our Jessieland wilderness property in Cumberland. Be sure to bundle up, because we will be outside all day!
